A New Low (extended 24 bit download)

Creep Church

Creep Church Morphine were, and remain, an absolute singularity, even among the heady rush of exciting and innovative rock bands springing forth from the post-Nirvana major label gold rush of the early 90s. With Vapors, Morphine founders Colley and Deupree, along with New Orleans bluesman Jeremy Lyons, give the lie to the old adage that American lives have no second acts. Long live low rock, and long live Vapors of Morphine.

  • Compact Disc (CD) + Digital Album

This is the original CD version of A New Low. If you purchase this on bandcamp, you will also get to download the 24-bit extended version with one extra track.

Produced in collaboration with Pete Weiss of Verdant Studio, recorded at Armory Sound, Dimension Sound Studios and Milk Row Cemetery, with art work by Lisa Deupree; songs by some of our favorite artists, including Brian Eno, Latin Playboys and Dock Boggs. Of course some Morphine chestnuts by Mr. Sandman, done in our own fashion.

Our auxiliary drummer Jeff Allison played on two tracks and produced the opening Wind Up Radio. And our dear friend, Malian musician Boubacar Diabaté sings on an alternate version of the track Renouveau/Daman N’Diaye found on the bandcamp extended 24-bit download version; his voice is sampled for the CD version.

We are our own worst critics, and we are really very happy with the way this thing turned out. Really, REALLY happy. We hope you enjoy our addition to the low rock universe.

Well I ain't got no use for your red apple juice I ain't got no honey baby now Well, I ain't got no sugar baby now Done all I could do, all I could say I can't go on living this a way Well I ain't got no honey baby now Who'll rock the cradle, who'll sing a song, Who'll rock the cradle when I'm gone? I ain't got no honey baby now Well I ain't got no use for your red rocking chair I ain't got no honey baby here I ain't got no sugar baby now I've done all I could for to see peace with you I can't go on living this a way Well I ain't got no honey baby now Who'll rock the cradle, who'll sing a song, Who'll rock the cradle when I'm gone? Souvenir 06:21
Souvenir by Mark Sandman I remember meeting you, we were super low Surrounded by the sounds of saxophones And I remember being this close, but never alone You gave me a little something to take home I dropped it on the floor, I dropped it on the floor Dropped it on the floor, I dropped it If I can only remember the name that's enough for me Because names hold the key, names hold key If I can only remember the name that's enough for me Because names hold the key, names hold key Souvenir of nothing Brought home a souvenir of nothing It fits into a pocket A souvenir, a souvenir of nowhere Somewhere I've never been before I dropped it on the floor, I dropped it on the floor Dropped it on the floor, I dropped it If I can only remember the name that's enough for me Because names hold the key, names hold key If I can only remember the name that's enough for me Because names hold the key, names hold key A souvenir of nothing, a souvenir of nothing Read more: Morphine - Souvenir Lyrics | MetroLyrics
